One of the perks of using Microsoft Dynamics GP 9, 10 and 2010 is User Customization. Meaning you make the look and access to windows, report, websites, toolbars easily available to you.  In this example, and I quite often get this question, “How is the best way to Exit GP?”  Answer:  Microsoft Dynamics GP>>Exit.  Why? Well, sometimes if you close by clicking X button it doesn’t always log you out of Dynamics GP.  Consequently, Microsoft Dynamics GP>>Exit assures your session closes and logs you off.

Oh bother, 2 clicks instead of 1? Yes.

However, there is an easy way to add these button to your toolbar and you’ll be back to one easy click again.
How to Add “Close All Windows” and “Exit” to the Main Toolbar

  • (1)  Click the Layout Button
  • (2) Select “Toolbars”
  • (3) Select “Customize”

Click the Dropdown and choose “Main*” then
choose “Close All Windows” then click the “Add” Button.  Next click to highlight “Exit” then click
“Add.”  Then click “OK”

Now you will see on the Toolbar the “Close All
Windows” and the “Exit” buttons

The process is not limited to just these two buttons.  You can add shortcuts to any of the toolbars in the dropdown so browse through and add other items that will make it easier for you to access.
